I was just at a cool hypnosis convention and the top award winner for being one of the greatest hypnotherapists was spotted outside smoking!

Hypnotherapists are human too. But that is no excuse.


Since I turned 50, I have gained weight, not much, but it seems that despite my best efforts and exercise I gained a pound here and there. And I truly believe that if I didn’t have my mad brain skills that stop hunger, cravings and overeating, I would have gained 50 or more pounds. My hypnosis skills keep things in check.
But we still have these metabolism changes that happen to most everyone as they get older. And I have been 20 pounds heavier than I like.

So I posted about it on Facebook. I started the HCG diet and all is going well. Greatest diet plan ever. You can learn more about online.

Anyhoooo… this diet is only 500 calories a day. And before you scream OH NO THAT IS SO UNHEALTHY, just take a deep breath.
The HCG causes you to absorb 2000-3000 calories of fat from your body. And that my friend, is a good thing.

An extremely good thing.

I was at the coolest place last weekend- the Longevity conference. David Wolfe is amazing and really inspires people to eat healthy and eat raw. We made insane tonics, smoothies and seaweed soup.

I bought some medicinal mushrooms and now I make tea out of them. You wanna taste funky town? Make mushroom tea. That will funkafy your body and mind. Jing!

I met Dr. Mercola. He is really cool in person. Fun, full of energy, happy, inspiring. He is telling it like it is and willing to be honest about the deception in the food industry, pharmaceutical fraud, and about a million other things. I hope he is reading this and knows how much I love his work. If only he had a great line of hypnotherapy products to help people manage the emotional and mental aspect of their health… nudge, nudge.

He also told me that a friend of his got a huge life change from my work. :)

I am going to make you a video about the things that I feel are the most important for health and longevity. It should be ready for you by Monday.

I bought a new shower filter. The more I learn about the bad crap in water, the more freaked out I am about putting it in and on my body.

Oooh, the snacks.

If you have been feeling the need to snatch and stuff, I have a plan.

I’ve been to a few too many parties this month and the one thing there is plenty of is high calorie snacks. They say that we gain 8 lbs over the holidays and with all the delicious fatty, salty, creamy deliciousness around us it is a challenge to stop the hand to mouth action.



I feel your pain!
I have some ideas about how to stop this. Obviously it has to do with exercise and eating, but it also has to do with stopping the mindless eating.

We have got to turn our CONSCIOUS awareness on before we grab the snacks. Easy, right?
Try a little mental rehearsal and activate your mindless self control. For instance, if you imagine yourself eating a bunch of snacks off a table, just hopelessly nibbling and tasting until the evening is over, you activate a set of responses in your brain that sets in motion the bigger problem. Once you turn that switch to "ON" your brain is in the full permission mode to eat anything and everything. Your brain is only going to continue to activate everything that supports that behavior.

However, if you do some mental rehearsal for conscious eating, imagining yourself with a small taste here and there, drinking water and hot tea, nibbling on veggies because they make you feel satisfied, and most of all staying CONSCIOUS before eating- you activate an entirely different set of actions. Your brain can only set in motion the self control and conscious enjoyment of healthy foods.
 

Eat, THINK and be MERRY.

Your friends are making you obese

Have you heard?

Shocking, but true. This study (and why do they have to spend money to find this out) shows that teenagers who hang out together will get fatter together. If you are a human being and you also breathe air, this should not be a revelation. We become what we think about, do, and act upon. If you surround yourself with people who like to eat and sit around and live a sedentary life, you will NOT become a long distance runner. If you surround yourself with people who love to mountain bike, or hike, or kayak for their recreation, chances are very good that you will be in good physical shape. And cleverly enough, the person in charge of this obesity study is named Fry. Coincidence? Here is the explanation from the article on how friends let friends get fat. Tam Fry, of the UK’s National Obesity Forum, said mounting evidence suggested the link was causative. “Other work has shown that you take on the weight attributes of your friends more than other people surrounding you, like neighbours, even if your friends live many miles away.” He said it boiled down to shared bad habits, like eating the wrong foods and not getting enough exercise. It can be hard to lose weight, and easy to gain it. And we are obviously influence by the people we surround ourselves with, and if that is not enough we have to battle our food issues that were deeply ingrained in our childhood. I remember a news show about a young boy, about 8 years old, who was 50 lbs overweight. The mother insisted that she had tried everything and was not overfeeding him. When they took the boy away from mom and sent him to live with Dad he lost all the excess weight and said “It’s fun to go out and play soccer and run. I like broccoli and salads” and things to that effect. Our environment obviously affects our choices that result in how heavy we are. And your friends are your environment. Let’s have a reality check. What’s in your kitchen? (or tucked under the sofa cushion) Do you have lots of sweet yummy snacks, microwavable fatty foods, sugary drinks, multiple flavors of ice cream? OR Do you have to prepare food when you are hungry, chop vegetables, make food out of actual ingredients? What do you do first thing in the morning? Go directly to the fridge to gobble down some food? OR Wait a little while, take a walk, stretch, do some writing? When planning an outing with friends what is the agenda? Do you plan the day or evening based on food or dessert (have you tried that new cupcake store that just opened?) and virtually nothing else? (Let’s go to the Chocolate/Slug/Shortcake/Fried festival today!) Or Do you plan to go to an art show, beach walk, game night, bike ride… that also happens to include a meal along the way? Which friends are you choosing to spend the most time with? Obviously, we didn’t need a study to figure out that fat teenagers hang out with other fat teens, or that kids with bad eating habits become obese adults. What do you want to change today? What small thing will you do to make your life a little more active and a little less ice-creamy? Stick a comment down there, inspire us! Loving the change you are about to make today!
