Oooh, the snacks.
If you have been feeling the need to snatch and stuff, I have a plan.
I’ve been to a few too many parties this month and the one thing there is plenty of is high calorie snacks. They say that we gain 8 lbs over the holidays and with all the delicious fatty, salty, creamy deliciousness around us it is a challenge to stop the hand to mouth action.
I feel your pain!
I have some ideas about how to stop this. Obviously it has to do with exercise and eating, but it also has to do with stopping the mindless eating.
We have got to turn our CONSCIOUS awareness on before we grab the snacks. Easy, right?
Try a little mental rehearsal and activate your mindless self control. For instance, if you imagine yourself eating a bunch of snacks off a table, just hopelessly nibbling and tasting until the evening is over, you activate a set of responses in your brain that sets in motion the bigger problem. Once you turn that switch to "ON" your brain is in the full permission mode to eat anything and everything. Your brain is only going to continue to activate everything that supports that behavior.
However, if you do some mental rehearsal for conscious eating, imagining yourself with a small taste here and there, drinking water and hot tea, nibbling on veggies because they make you feel satisfied, and most of all staying CONSCIOUS before eating- you activate an entirely different set of actions. Your brain can only set in motion the self control and conscious enjoyment of healthy foods.
Eat, THINK and be MERRY.

Eat your veggies!
Go get ‘em!
But don’t stick ‘em up your nose.
That is gross.
The more raw foods, specially veggies, that you eat, the healthier and leaner you will be.
